Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid with CPR/AED--Infant/Child
Course Description
This comprehensive course teaches the skills of CPR and First Aid in a single class. It is designed for non-medical professionals or laypersons to participate in the resuscitation of an infant or child outside of the hospital setting. This class covers infant and child CPR, CPR with a face mask, and foreign body airway obstruction. This course exposes students to the basics of first aid care from the most common injuries and medical emergencies. The use of an AED is also covered for those individuals who require this module for certification. The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course is perfect for anyone wanting to be certified in the basic skills of saving the life of an infant or child. The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course meets certification requirements for teachers, day care workers, nannies, and anyone else that is required to have this type of certification as a condition of employment.
Course Prerequisite
Wear loose comfortable clothing to class. Students will be practicing skills that require them to work on their hands and knees.
Course Accreditation
This course is accredited by the American Heart Association and follows the AHA curriculum. Certification cards for this course are valid for 2 years.
Course Length
Course length averages about 4-6 hours depending on the size of the class. Students arriving more than 10 minutes after the course has begun will not be permitted to take the course.
Course Inclusions
This course includes the American Heart Association student manual and the AHA certification card.
Registration
Registration occurs upon receipt of payment. Confirmed registrants will receive a receipt via e-mail. Please keep receipt for your records. Scheduling and dates are subject to change.
Cancellation / Refunds:
Requests for a refund must be in writing and received 72 hours prior to course date at the latest. NO REFUNDS will be issued to cancellations within 72 hours of course date. NO REFUNDS will be issued to “no shows” or to anyone who is more than 10 minutes late for the course. Students may enter into the very next available course as a makeup at no extra charge. Students must confirm with the training center of their attendance one week prior to the next scheduled class. This will be the only opportunity for a makeup without a loss of fees.
